River Island has joined forces with model and designer Sofia Richie who has curated a summer collection for the retailer featuring a range of seasonal essentials.

And California is key here with Richie is known for “her elegant, clean-cut style and Californian attitude”. The company said her taste “synthesizes River Island’s creative vision, making her the perfect match for the brand as they move towards a new phase of sophistication”.

The edit comes with a campaign shot by Clara Balzary in Joshua Tree, California, with images that “encapsulate the gold, hazy desert environment, echoing Balzary’s distinct vintage aesthetic”. Meanwhile, the "warm, dreamlike background illuminates the tones of the collection, creating a visually arresting campaign that vividly conveys the SS22 color palette”.

Launched this week, the pieces include a relaxed and oversized natural linen suit, a tailored jacket dress with cutout detail, and essential summer denim with a hint of distressed detailing.
