Prior to the 2023 Academy Awards, performers gave their greatest fashion performances on the red carpet, rounding up an exciting awards season with their best outfits. 

These performances were recognised as the year's top cinema performances. Several of the celebrities opted for styles that contrasted the old with the modern, creating ensembles that seemed at once recognisable, gorgeous, and brand-new. The dominant colour of the evening was white, and celebrities favoured simple, timeless designs that had been given a contemporary makeover. Bold colours also made an appearance on the largest award night, even if white still predominated on the now-champagne-coloured carpet. Our favourite was Rihanna, who flaunted her growing baby bulge in an Alaa couture dress by Pieter Mullier.
