FENDI, an Italian fashion house, has asked Marc Jacobs to unveil a very unique collection that marries grandeur with streetwear in honour of the legendary Baguette bag's 25th anniversary.

The items nevertheless adhere to the traditional FENDI house standards while the designer incorporates modern themes. Jacobs' time capsule makes use of commonplace items and forms to allude to New York's Gilded Age.

Bright colours like silver, grey, white, vivid yellow, and black complete this potent fusion of reality and dream. The flowing and stretched proportions and forms that make up the capsule are recognizable as having Jacobs' signature maximalist touch. 

The distinctive FENDI ROMA emblem and the Baguette bag's lines, which are expanded to ready-to-wear clothing, served as the key sources of inspiration. On large items like coats or cargo trousers, volumes generate architectural creations. With acid washes, ripped jeans are lengthened to emphasise the shape. With a front pocket in the style of the Maxi Baguette bag, the house's iconic bag is reinterpreted as a hoodie.
