The autumn 2023 Max Mara collection was influenced by Émilie du Châtelet's genius, a leading figure in the Enlightenment of the 18th century. The collection evokes the past by fusing military capes, luxurious brocades, and giant teddy coats with turtleneck sweaters and neutral-colored leather bustier belts.

But Max Mara doesn't spend a lot of time thinking back. Here come the Tonne Goodman-styled clunky combat boots. These boots give the collection a modern edge by stomping into modernity rather than skirting around it. In contrast to Max Mara's Beachwear range, which was launched earlier this year, the layered and cosy designs.
