In an age where accessibility and rapid fulfillment have become the standard, Alexandre Vauthier's Spring Summer 2024 collection is a monument to his steadfast devotion to fashion as a world of fantasy, desire, and mystique. Vauthier's strategy harkens back to a period when the fashion business was a sought-after bubble that required effort and attention to access in a world where social media rules.

Vauthier ponders the value of allowing for some creative license and wonders what happens to desire when no room is given for it. He emphasizes that desire and imagination are significantly more alluring than blatantly explicit displays, embracing a balance between body consciousness and mysticism.

Infusing his designs with a feeling of workmanship and precision, Vauthier pulls influence from couture for his spring collection. The set also includes a print with primary colors that were created using his desk sketches as inspiration. 

Asymmetrical jersey shirts are defined by sharp shoulders, cropped trench coats are reinterpreted, and razor-cut jackets are coupled with deep-cuffed denims. Generously curved bombers give off the '80s feel, while jersey jumpsuits show off unconventional lines in both classic and attractive one-leg batwing variations.

Brocade from couture is recreated in Lurex with a silk touch, giving eveningwear a shiny appeal. Weightless party gowns are embellished with liquid mercury lamé, and gold lamé is elegantly pleated to create statuesque hourglass shapes. The bronze lamé top, which is short, pleated, and sculptural like a shell, is a striking item.
