Jimmy Choo X Jean Paul Gaultier Ad Campaign Featuring Kylie Minogue.
Jimmy Choo recently announced the beginning of their joint venture with the famous French design business Jean Paul Gaultier. Kylie Minogue, a worldwide pop phenomenon, is leading an official campaign that officially launches this much awaited collaboration.
Using a common spirit of femininity, empowerment, and confidence as inspiration, the campaign aims to combine the unique creative identities of both firms. The collection, which was co-created by Florence Tétier, creative director of JPG, and Sandra Choi, creative director of Jimmy Choo, honours the illustrious histories of these two legendary brands.
"Fashion, to me, has always been about collaborating with like-minded creatives and expressing my true self," says Minogue, expressing her excitement for the partnership. My fashion path has been greatly influenced by both Jimmy Choo and Jean Paul Gaultier, so I'm excited to be a part of this amazing collection. It symbolises the blending of our shared pasts to create something brand-new."
The ad, which features a number of special Jimmy Choo shoes and Gaultier outfits, builds on Kylie's long-standing partnership with both companies. In all of the images, Minogue personifies a modern take on the vintage pin-up look.
In line with Minogue's thoughts, Sandra Choi of Jimmy Choo declares, "Kylie, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Jimmy Choo have all unquestionably become symbols of pop culture. We cross traditional lines and bring disparate cultures together, all while representing the empowerment of women. We couldn't have chosen a better person than Kylie; she is a true icon who can pull off outfits that perfectly capture the spirit of London and Paris."
The creative director of Jean Paul Gaultier, Florence Tétier, continues, "Jimmy Choo is like the Gaultier of shoes (craft meets rebellion)." Kylie, meanwhile, is much more than just a performer; she has a rich past entwined with both houses. Our brands are united by the appreciation of the strong female form in pop culture—an idea that is quite distinctive. Kylie personifies this philosophy."
This relationship marks Jimmy Choo's second successful venture with Sailor Moon creator Naoko Takeuchi. Comparably, JPG's latest collection comes after its successful launch with KNWLS and the anticipated announcement of Simone Rocha as its upcoming guest designer.
