Exclusive Feature: Zara Studio Fall Winter 2023-2024 campaign
Under the creative supervision of Fabien Baron and photographed by Steven Meisel, Zara Studio's Fall 2023 Women's campaign explores the concepts of duality and identity in great detail, providing a novel viewpoint on the brand's most inventive and high-quality products.
Through their long-standing cooperation with the fashion industry's top visionaries, Baron and Meisel, the Zara design team has once again succeeded in incorporating a touch of luxury into their campaigns, working with renowned stylist and creative director Karl Templer.
The creative team has done it again, bringing a very cinematic aspect to the most recent women's ad. Though beneath the surface, their photography delves into the intriguing concept of duality, it also radiates a seductive charm reminiscent of the classic Gucci advertisements of the Tom Ford period.
The combination of two figures that remarkably resemble each other, an artistic decision that initially fools the viewer into believing they are virtually identical computer replicas, perfectly captures this concept.
Though their hair and cosmetics create an eerily similar façade, closer inspection reveals that they are two unique persons. This innovative strategy adds an eerie and abstract element to the campaign's visual storytelling by weaving a tale of doppelgängers and doubles.
Through the familiar yet surreal world of fashion photography, issues of identity and mirroring are revealed thanks to this deft visual conceit that propels the images into a realm of cool conceptualism. This strategy perfectly fits Zara Studio's concept of apparel that is raw and refined, elusive yet approachable.
Models Angelina Kendall, Ida Heiner, Sacha Quenby, Annemary Adeiribigbe, Awar Odhian, and Nyawuhr Chuol are featured in the Zara Studio Fall/Winter 2023–2024 campaign, which is photographed by Steven Meisel and features Karl Templer, a wardrobe stylist, makeup artist Pat Mcgrath, and hair stylist Guido Palau.
