For the Holiday 2023 campaign, Prada offers a distinctive fusion of imagination and reality, going beyond conventional holiday themes. This idea is realised by renowned photographer Willy Vanderperre, creative director Ferdinando Verderi, and stylist Olivier Rizzo.
Four well-known celebrities, each engrossed in a compelling world of their own, appear in the campaign. The campaign's faces, Maya Hawke from "Stranger Things," Damson Idris from "Snowfall," Louis Partridge from "Enola Holmes," and Kim Tae-ri from "The Handmaiden," are more than just that. They depict people going through their own made-up universes.
The idea behind Prada's advertisement is both concrete and abstract. The stars are arranged in glistening spheres that represent individual spacecraft or pods. These spheres demonstrate the boundless potential of the imagination by acting as metaphors for personal voyages to make-believe locations.
This campaign is set against a backdrop that combines the historical and the futuristic. With its traditional checkered marble floor, the famed 1913 Prada store in Milan's Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II stretches into a huge cosmic horizon. This merging of the past with the present and future promises a visual feast akin to a starry sky observed through a telescope.
