Ruffini abandons the rich foliages and tropical flora themes that typified her earlier collections in favour of a lighter colour scheme and four print possibilities, emphasising clever adaptability. Rather, she finds inspiration in Como-sourced 18th-century archive textiles, which she transfers onto languid fabrications to give the line a textured pattern.
Using her vast collection of rare books on the history of costumes, Ruffini boldly alludes to the splendour of aristocratic court attire in bygone eras. The collection's subdued exuberance is modernised in the lookbook, which is set against the backdrop of an elaborately furnished Milanese house featuring stucco ceilings.
For a more shapely look, the generous and comfortable lounge-inspired shapes are slightly altered. Ruffini personally examines every design before it is produced, demonstrating her dedication to comfort. The designs in the collection are more subdued, emerging from dark backgrounds or in stark interpretations of ivory and brown to appeal to a wider audience. Without sacrificing elegance, solid colors—such as a rich, deep brown velvet jacquard—introduce a hint of masculinity.
Ruffini chooses soothing shades of blue and dusty pink instead of vibrant and saturated tones, giving the collection a refined and young feel.
