Designer Piotrek Panszczyk sets out on a voyage of discovery and reinvention as Area commemorates its tenth anniversary of operation, pushing the limits of the brand's look while exploring new categories and viewpoints. Panszczyk and his team set out to find new and intriguing creative paths, and they do it with a strong eye for deconstruction and thematic inquiry.

The striking symbolism of eyes—a theme that speaks directly to Panszczyk and opens doors to a world of creative inspiration—serves as the collection's main point. Viewers are taken to a world of mod-inspired designs during the Starrett-Lehigh building's runway show, where the focus is on enormous jackets with eye-shaped cutouts and small shift dresses with circular leather appliqués. With its inventive Dalmatian jacquard patterns, denim takes centre stage. This classic fabric gets a modern update with veiled-cape skirts and statement-making hot trousers à la Balenciaga.

Panszczyk offers a sequence of flowery jersey items that give the collection a hint of commercial appeal, amongst the editorial flare and runway fantasy. But what really grabs attention are the bold designs and ostentatious details, such as the crystal-encrusted crop tops and car wash skirts that radiate a playful extravagance, and the shift dresses with googly eyes.
