MCM Launches Ramadan Capsule Collection Featuring Hanan Houachmi
Launching its first-ever Ramadan capsule collection, German luxury fashion label MCM celebrated a major milestone for the business as it entered the Ramadan season. Hanan Houachmi, a tastemaker and creative consultant based in Dubai who is renowned for her sophisticated style and in-depth knowledge of luxury fashion, collaborated with us to create this unique range.
Designed to reimagine modern modest dress for Ramadan, the line combines the classic MCM style with the refinement and practicality needed for the holy month. The Lauretos monogram pattern by MCM adorns key items such as wide-leg pants, a hooded kaftan dress, and a shirt dress made of a lightweight fabric. This elegant fusion of MCM's history with contemporary modest attire pays homage to the brand's avant-garde approach to design.
One of the collection's highlights is how these items can be accessorised with MCM's characteristic pieces, including the Himmel shoulder bag, the double-sided Chambray blue silk scarf from Lauretos, and the belt with diamond buckles. The latter, which embodies the elegance and skill MCM is renowned for, is a work of art in and of itself. It is made from natural Nappa leather and Italian satin and is adorned with Swarovski crystals.
The MCM Creative Director Katie Chung, Global Commercial and Brand Officer Sabine Brunner, and President of MCM Global AG Hanan Houachmi worked together to produce the Ramadan collection. This collaboration is a testament to MCM's dedication to upholding Ramadan customs while embracing creativity and innovation.
In addition to expressing her thanks for the partnership, Hanan Houachmi stressed the significance of her contribution as a humble Arab woman in creating the collection. This feeling highlights MCM's inclusive and progressive mindset when designing this collection.
Influencer Leena Al Ghouti was brought on by MCM for the campaign, which was shot by famous photographer Francesco Scotti and celebrated the collection's adaptability and appeal.
The MCM Ramadan capsule collection may now be bought on the company's official website and at a few select locations throughout the world, including the Conduit Street flagship in London and outposts in Dubai, Kuwait, Germany, Korea, Malaysia, and Singapore. This launch not only honours the holy month of Ramadan but also signifies MCM's entry into the modest fashion market, establishing a new benchmark for exclusivity and elegance within the sector.
