Ungaro Spring Summer 2025 Menswear Collection Fashion Show
Disregard the typical athletic aura that Men's Fashion Week frequently exudes. For Spring Summer 2025, Philippe Piaubert, Creative Director of Ungaro, transported us to an opulent Mexican getaway.
Inspired by the vivid landscapes of Mexico and the striking architecture of Luis Barragán, the collection was a riot of color and texture. A feeling of carefree sophistication was evoked by the use of earthy tones and tactile materials like bouclé on bermuda suits and garment-dyed camouflage items.
With a focus on loose silhouettes and collarless coats, tailoring received a modern makeover. Not to be outdone, the athleisure trend featured boxy jackets matched with matching shorts, ideal for those wishing they were somewhere warmer. To add a bit of practicality, Piaubert provided pixelated jungle-print raincoats and large trenches for those attending the presentation on a wet Parisian day.
Various versions of Ungaro's iconic floral prints were created, ranging from traditional cotton patterns to whimsical linens with jalapeño peppers surrounded by lush vegetation. Blurred brights gave the house characteristic polka dots a 1960s edge. These designs embellished swimming shorts as well as shirts, reinforcing the collection's focus on sunny days.
Luxury wasn't only for everyday attire. The evening clothing selections exuded an incredibly luxurious vibe with their deep forest green tuxedo jackets featuring broad shawl collars and sequined designs that resembled foliage.
