Badgley Mischka Resort 2025 collection lookbook
For their newest Badgley Mischka Resort 2025 collection, design team Mark Badgley and James Mischka took a trip down memory lane—along with a beachside detour. A beautiful combination of breezy California vibes and casual elegance, the collection was inspired by a trip to Santa Barbara and its rich Hollywood heritage.
Mischka remarked, "We were reminded of how much we love Santa Barbara," alluding to the inspiration that spurred the creative process. They explored the opulent past of the town, particularly the silent cinema period and the famous bungalows that were visited by Hollywood's elite.
This resulted in a selection of elegant items with a beachy, poolside-chic vibe, including their famous cocktail dresses and gowns. Eye-catching multicoloured stripes adorned halter-style caftans and flowing maxi skirts. Vibrant prints of Santa Barbara's local flora, such as hibiscus flowers and fir trees, decorated tailored suits and satiny shirtdresses in pink and green hues that Badgley called "colours we love."
The collection's designers went for a more simplified approach to silhouettes, despite using vibrant colours and whimsical designs. This season, Badgley and Mischka, well-known for their elaborate designs, opted to let the vibrant colours and patterns take the stage. "The silhouettes have a laid-back vibe," said Badgley. "We didn't get into too much beading."Mischka remarked, "We were reminded of how much we love Santa Barbara," alluding to the inspiration that spurred the creative process. Still, there was some textural intrigue in the collection. An off-the-shoulder party dress came to life with 3D flower embellishments covering the neckline and sleeves, while a gorgeous peach-pink satin gown showcased huge floral appliques flowing down the breast.
These designs, designed for poolside parties and summertime relaxing, encapsulate California living to the fullest. They make you want to "be right there at the Biltmore Hotel," lapping up the Santa Barbara sunlight in opulent grandeur, as Mischka so eloquently put it.
