I am Stasa Calovic.I was born in Belgrade, Serbia and I have been living there my whole childhood.
How and when did you discover you had a passion for modeling?
I always was a very girly girl. I loved everything about beauty, aesthetics, clothes, etc from a very early age...but I never dreamed of becoming a model, it just happened.
What advice would you offer to other aspiring models who wish to set their own style and not be like everyone else?
Never change yourself to impress some specific brand, that way what is actually for you will never find you.
What do you consider your biggest professional success so far?
I consider my biggest success to be shooting the Guess campaign and also my shootings for Guess lingerie. I was also thrilled to shoot for Kiko Milano. The shooting for Elle Arabia, and Harpers Bazaar Arabia was also among my favorites.
In your own words please describe your style as a model?
My style is all about embracing simplicity and natural beauty, I enjoy minimalistic designs that highlight elegance.
Do you remember your first experience in front of the Camera?
Yes, I was very excited and so happy that day. It was a shooting by a very famous American photographer. Considering it was my first time in front of the camera I was very comfortable making poses and actually enjoyed every second.
How big a role does modeling play in your life?
I really love what I do. I appreciate every person I met through this job and every destination I visited. I have so many funny and interesting stories to tell. But, it's a real job that also teaches you how to always be very professional. Modeling is a big life school.
Who or what is your biggest motivation in life?
Future me and me as a child.
What Would You Consider the Most Important Components of Your Style? And Do You Feel You Have A Signature Style as a model?
My style as a model is being my natural self but when I am on a shoot I am ready to deliver whatever the client wants, I guess that's the point of modeling.
If you could change one thing about the fashion and modeling industry, what would it be? What would you improve?
I like how it is right now. The only thing that I would change is the fact that very beautiful, unique girls with amazing physiques deserve to be on the top, even if they don't have famous parents.
What is the most challenging part of being a model?
The most challenging part is the unpredictability of the schedule. It’s hard to make plans since you never know where you’ll fly next. Additionally, constant travel often means spending a lot of time alone.
What are some of the other biggest hurdles you have faced as a model and how did you overcome them?
One of the biggest hurdles I've faced as a model is dealing with preconceived notions about the industry. It can be quite bothersome at times. To overcome this, I've focused on proving those stereotypes wrong by showcasing my professionalism, dedication, and the diverse skills that go into my work.
If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?
I would love to be a little less in my thoughts all the time, my head is always in the clouds hahaha..
Who are some of your favorite photographers to work with?
They are all very special and have their own styles but I really love Alexandra's style.
What’s your most memorable shoot?
My favorite shoot was a bridal session in the south of Italy. We shot all around the city, and many people thought a real wedding was taking place. Their excitement and enthusiasm made the experience truly memorable.
Becoming a model really introduces one major condition into your life which is “Consistency”. Do you think this theory is accurate or not?
Yes, I believe this theory is accurate. Consistency in maintaining your look, health, and professionalism is crucial for sustaining a successful career in the industry. It requires regular effort and dedication to stay in top form and meet the demands of clients and agencies.
Is there any brand you would love to model for?
I would really love to do an Armani beauty campaign.
What does the word “Women Empowerment “mean to you? And how does it help women?
To me, "Women Empowerment" means recognizing and embracing the strength, capabilities, and value of women in all aspects of life. It involves providing equal opportunities, fostering independence, and supporting women in achieving their full potential.
Being a woman means embracing softness and femininity without fear, as these qualities hold immense power. There is so much more to every woman than just her physical presence.
How do you empower females through your work as a model?
Through my work as a model, I empower females by showcasing diverse representations of beauty and strength. I strive to embody authenticity and confidence, encouraging women to embrace their uniqueness and feel empowered in their own skin.
What are your latest and upcoming projects?
I have a few exciting projects on the horizon, including a significant campaign planned for September in Mexico. I look forward to sharing more details soon!
What are you doing when you are not working?
When I am not working I love to spend time in nature. I love it so much. That is what really fills me up.
What is your beauty regimen and how do you stay in shape?
My beauty regimen includes a focus on healthy eating, but I also believe in balance. While I enjoy nutritious foods, I don't hesitate to indulge in something like a burger occasionally. Staying active is key—I make sure to move my body regularly to maintain my shape and overall well-being.
Any last words you’d like to add.
