Feben Spring Summer 2025 collection fashion show at London Fashion Week SS25
Feben drew inspiration for their Spring Summer 2025 collection, Reign, from the wet British summertime and the transformational potential of vulnerability. The collection, which drew inspiration from the life of deaf flamenco dancer Antonia Singla, celebrated resiliency and the capacity to overcome hardship and rise above it all. This was shown in the densely fringed jersey pieces that were meant to move dynamically and were reminiscent of the rhythmic intensity of flamenco, as well as the flowing v-neck and single-strapped white cotton dresses with dropping waists and flounced hems.A defining feature of Feben's art, rich textures were abundant in this collection. Her velvet creations went beyond her earlier trials with the material, especially in her renowned Twist method. A partnership with Ghanaian artisanal beaders resulted in unique items like a dress with a netted bateau neck and ostrich feathers, which represent both fragility and strength. The balance that Feben aimed to portray—combining components reminiscent of armour with a feeling of exposure—was highlighted by these elaborate designs.
The split-seamed skirts and vest dresses with sculpted hips and reversible sequin embroidery were the most intriguing inventions in the collection. The pieces' capacity to change one's look with a simple touch was in keeping with the collection's theme of transformation and adaptation. Wearers were encouraged to embrace the erratic and always shifting nature of life and fashion by Feben's Reign, which explored the interaction of textures, movement, and personal expression.
