Designer Ashlynn Park debuted her Spring Summer 2025 collection at the Cristina Grajales Gallery, accompanied by a carefully chosen assortment of gallery-owned design items. Park's method for the season, which she referred to as "revisiting the history of fashion," was mirrored in this thoughtful blending of the old and new. Citing fashion luminaries like Christian Dior, Azzedine Alaïa, Madame Grès, and her old mentor Yohji Yamamoto, Park used historical inspiration to tackle contemporary issues. She said, "The solutions and answers are frequently already there [in the past]."

Park included her own voice into her collection while paying homage to these style icons. Her version of the tuxedo had a dynamic black-and-white contrast in the back, where the shirt and coat backs looked to "dance" together. It was a mid-length, one-button black coat with a delicate hourglass form. A portion of this design was influenced by Alaïa's exacting tailoring, especially his well-constructed jackets and shirts.

After a month and a half of perfecting the tension, the gown was a Grecian black jersey gown with a rolled accent at the waist. The crimson version, along with a long-sleeved shirt, mimicked Park's recognisable puzzle-piece design. Asymmetric leather corset top and trimmed eel-skin tunic were two more stunning items that displayed Park's deft handiwork.Christian Dior is a frequent source of inspiration for Park.

Her take on the classic Bar jacket did away with the padded hips in favour of an exposed boning and cloud of tulle draped over a long, draped skirt, showing a more deconstructed style with a straightforward bra underneath. A white sleeveless dress with a beautiful peplum, on the other hand, was created with no waste, demonstrating the designer's dedication to sustainability.

The presentation's second area featured a row of gowns that looked as elegant and poised as the Acropolis' caryatids. A classic elegance was evoked by a black column dress cut with white in a Fontana-like pattern. The collection showcased Park's designs' adaptability by combining more evening-focused pieces with more carefree styles like shirtdresses and kilts.

Additionally, Park went back through her own collection, particularly pulling from the Spring 2023 line. An obvious progression from her earlier work was a jersey jumpsuit with a slightly lowered V-shaped yoke and draped harem-style trousers. This ensemble was both modern and reminiscent of Martha Graham, especially when paired with a bandeau-style cardigan that revealed a bit of shoulder. Norma Kamali and Alaïa both exhibited a broader tendency towards ease and fluidity in fashion, which was consistent with the softly collected material that allowed for flexibility of movement.

Park skilfully combined historical inspirations with contemporary methods for his Spring Summer 2025 collection, producing timeless items that are still relevant in today's fashion world.
