Akris Fall Winter 2025-2026: A Study in Blue
For Fall Winter 2025-2026, Albert Kriemler of Akris delved into the infinite depths of blue, exploring its tonal variations across a refined collection that blurred the lines between classic tailoring, opulent textures, and modern eveningwear.
Ostrich feathers floated across double-face coats, cocktail dresses, military jackets, and even high-heeled shoes, lending a tactile softness to the collection’s structured silhouettes. Kriemler, known for his meticulous approach to fabric innovation, further expanded his textile vocabulary this season. A discovery of Ottoman silk in Como, Italy, led to a series of trench coats, worker jackets, tuxedos, skirts, and fluid dresses, showcasing the material’s exquisite movement.
Texture was a defining element, with shearling mounted on tulle, combed cashmere crafted to mimic shearling, and velvet bonded to neoprene for sculptural precision. Military influences emerged in tailored leather jackets and sharp shirtdresses, juxtaposing the collection’s softer, more ethereal elements.
A collaboration with artist Alyson Shotz introduced a cyanotype print of swirling blue hues onto key pieces, reinforcing the collection’s immersive exploration of color. The show’s setting—the Collège des Bernardins, bathed in blue lighting—created an atmospheric backdrop, though the subtle intricacies of the fabrics were best appreciated up close in a showroom setting.
Through expert textile craftsmanship and a poetic embrace of blue’s emotional depth, Akris delivered a collection that felt at once timeless and deeply modern, proving that color can be as evocative as form.
