Atlein Fall Winter 2025-2026: Draped Power and Feminine Archaeology
For Atlein Fall Winter 2025-2026, Antonin Tron’s collection, presented at the Palais de Tokyo, was a masterclass in draping, fabric manipulation, and historical reverence. Deeply inspired by ancient depictions of Venuses, Brancusi’s sculptural forms, and the elaborate head wraps of Madame Grès, the collection explored matriarchal power and the overlooked narratives of female-led societies.
Tron’s signature fluid draping techniques, often referred to as "torsade," took center stage. He worked with jersey, chiffon, and satin, crafting sinuous, body-hugging silhouettes that emphasized movement and form. The colour palette—claret, kelp, anthracite, and black—reinforced the collection’s earthy yet refined aesthetic.
Outerwear was equally sculptural, with lustrous faux down and wool flannel jackets cinched at the waist, creating modern armour for the contemporary woman. Belted teddy coats in brown faux fur and black lacquered leather-effect pants added texture and contrast.
A standout piece—a simple gray tee with a twisted sleeve, paired with a pale green draped skirt—captured the essence of Tron’s approach: transforming everyday garments into poetic, sculptural works of art.
Through thoughtful fabric manipulation and a deep engagement with history, Atlein’s latest collection proved that draping isn’t just an aesthetic choice—it’s a powerful narrative tool.
