Max Mara Spring Summer 2025: A Study in Light, Precision, and Legacy
Max Mara's Spring Summer 2025 campaign, lensed by Craig McDean, is a masterclass in restraint and refinement—an exploration of light, structure, and intellect. Inspired by the enigmatic Hypatia, the 4th-century philosopher, astronomer, and mathematician, creative director Ian Griffiths channels her spirit into a collection defined by draped silhouettes and mathematically precise tailoring.
Vittoria Ceretti, the face of the campaign, moves through an abstract interplay of lines, angles, and shadow—a setting that subtly evokes the geometry of Hypatia’s world. Styled by the legendary Tonne Goodman, with makeup by Mark Carrasquillo and hair by Esther Langham, every element of the campaign reflects a quiet sophistication that aligns seamlessly with Max Mara’s enduring aesthetic.
While the campaign offers only a whisper of its historical muse, its true focus remains on the collection itself—meticulously crafted, effortlessly elegant, and steeped in the brand’s signature Italian refinement. Here, precision meets poetry. The interplay of form and fabric nods to antiquity yet remains firmly grounded in modernity. With a palette of soft drapery and sculpted tailoring, Max Mara continues its legacy of intellectual minimalism—where history is not simply referenced, but seamlessly woven into the very fabric of design.
