Ottolinger Fall Winter 2025-2026: The Art of Daily Performance
For Fall Winter 2025-2026, Christa Bösch and Cosima Gadient of Ottolinger turned their gaze inward, deconstructing the rituals of self-presentation. Titled Daily Performance, the collection dissected the subtle performances we enact—from intimate, private moments to the curated personas we present to the world. A model’s inner monologue, woven into the show’s soundtrack, served as a haunting reminder of the fluid, ever-shifting nature of identity.
Ottolinger’s signature deconstruction met radical form-play this season. Silhouettes were manipulated with strategic padding, distorting hip and shoulder proportions to subvert traditional ideas of shape and movement. Precision tailoring took on a warped elegance—cinched jackets clashed against biker blouses constructed from bonded wool and scuba fabric, forging a tension between structure and fluidity.
Texture and layering played a central role. Deconstructed mesh print dresses clung to the body with a ghostly sensuality, while overdyed denim pieces exposed raw seams, their edges fraying like unfinished thoughts. Shapewear fabric became a crucial storytelling element, appearing in sculpted bodysuits, layered tops, and leggings that teased the skin beneath—revealing, concealing, and redefining notions of control.
The collection also offered a glimpse into an unexpected collaboration—Skims labels discreetly peeked from select garments, hinting at a fusion of Ottolinger’s avant-garde sensibility with Kim Kardashian’s mastery of second-skin dressing.
Through distortion, exposure, and an embrace of raw imperfection, Ottolinger once again challenged fashion’s status quo, proving that the most compelling performances are often the ones we don’t even realize we’re giving.
