Sacai FW25/26: Deconstructed Elegance with an Urban Edge
Chitose Abe’s Fall/Winter 2025-2026 collection for Sacai reaffirmed her mastery of hybrid design, delivering a seamless fusion of structure, fluidity, utility, and elegance. Presented in a raw, industrial space, the show felt like a meditation on transformation—where classic wardrobe staples were reimagined through bold deconstruction and unexpected layering.
Abe’s signature juxtaposition of textures and silhouettes was more refined than ever. Tailoring played a central role, with sharply cut blazers and trench coats spliced with fluid silk panels, creating the illusion of movement within precision-cut structures. Military-inspired parkas and bomber jackets were softened by pleated chiffon inserts, while classic pinstripe suits were unexpectedly layered over delicate lace slips, subverting traditional notions of power dressing.
Knitwear took on architectural proportions, with sculptural turtlenecks and exaggerated cable-knit wraps adding dimension to otherwise streamlined looks. A standout moment was the introduction of cocoon-like outerwear, where down-filled puffer jackets seamlessly transitioned into wool coats, blurring the line between function and high fashion.
Accessories reinforced the collection’s urban sophistication. Sculptural leather boots with molded soles, oversized messenger bags, and modular belts with unexpected hardware details added a sense of modern utility. Abe’s continued experimentation with hybrid footwear resulted in ankle boots that merged hiking and biker boot influences, further emphasizing the brand’s commitment to versatility.
Sacai’s FW25/26 collection was a study in contrasts—where masculine and feminine, structure and softness, past and future coalesced into a wardrobe designed for a new era of confident, dynamic dressing.
