Situationist FW25/26: A Defiant Elegance in the Face of Adversity
Situationist’s Fall Winter 2025-2026 collection unfolded as a bold sartorial manifesto—an unflinching act of resistance against political turmoil in Georgia. Presented in Paris, the collection embodied defiance, resilience, and the transformative power of fashion as a form of protest.
Co-founder Davit Giorgadze positioned the collection as an artistic rebellion, stating it was about “survival and resistance, and staying firm.” This ethos translated into a striking interplay of gender-fluid silhouettes, architectural tailoring, and subversive layering.
A commanding all-black ensemble set the tone—leather and faux fur pants, a structured leather polo neck, and gloves exuding an air of controlled rebellion. Twisted leather shirt dresses, voluminous outerwear, and sculpted knit dresses with rounded forms pushed silhouettes to dramatic extremes. “A lot of garments are taken to the extreme, twisted and elongated,” Giorgadze explained, underscoring the brand’s fearless design language.
Layering became an act of defiance, with leather sleeves extending beyond bustiers, fitted skirts, and trousers, while high necklines created a sense of protective armor. Unexpected cutouts—like open-back panels hidden within seemingly modest designs—played with the tension between concealment and exposure. A charcoal gray wool suit, punctuated by a double collar, demonstrated Situationist’s ability to elevate minimalism with a quiet, avant-garde edge.
Friends and fellow creatives from Georgia took to the runway, infusing the show with raw authenticity and a deeply personal narrative. The atmosphere was heightened by a pulsating soundtrack from Georgian electro musician Zesknel, reinforcing the collection’s unwavering energy.
More than fashion, Situationist FW25/26 was an act of defiance—an unapologetic tribute to strength, creativity, and the enduring spirit of protest.
