Telma FW25: Nocturnal Elegance in a City of Shadows
Telma's Fall Winter 2025-2026 collection, unveiled at TODA Hall & Conference in Tokyo, transforms the eerie solitude of an empty city into a sartorial vision. Inspired by the stark contrast between Omotesando’s bustling streets by day and their haunting stillness at night, designer Terumichi Nakajima crafts a narrative where urban precision meets poetic unease.
The show opened in deep, inky blacks—structured tailoring adorned with silver beading traced the constellations of an imagined skyline. As the night unfolded, silhouettes grew ethereal, with sculptural skirts echoing the layered depths of petticoats, blurring the lines between strength and fragility. Art Nouveau-inspired plant motifs twisted across silk tops and long coats, their unsettling curvatures enhancing the collection’s uncanny beauty.
Eveningwear shimmered like a city under starlight, with celestial embroidery illuminating sheer gowns. A standout dress, merging intricate river lace and quilted textures, bore the strength of a tiger hidden within its delicate craftsmanship—a tribute to Telma’s mastery of Japanese artisanal techniques.
A meditation on the unseen, the Telma FW25 collection drapes the urban landscape in a dreamlike haze, where darkness and light coexist in quiet, haunting splendor.
