Normando FW25: A Northern Tapestry of Culture, Craft, and Contemporary Elegance

Normando returned to São Paulo Fashion Week N57 with a deeply evocative Fall Winter 2025-2026 collection titled Chove nos Campos de Cachoeira ("It Rains in the Fields of Cachoeira"). Drawing inspiration from the literary works of Amazonian author Dalcídio Jurandir, the collection felt like a poetic homage to the textures, landscapes, and voices of northern Brazil. Designers Marco Normando and Emidio Contente tapped into a shared cultural lineage—joined on the runway and in the front row by fellow Paraense icons Carol Ribeiro, Dira Paes, and Gaby Amarantos—crafting a narrative that was both intimate and boldly contemporary.

Amazonian materials served as both fabric and metaphor. Jute and mallow blends gave tactile depth to silhouettes, while seringueira latex introduced a sleek, grounded sensuality—particularly in a striking off-white bodysuit layered beneath a Buriti straw skirt. The lush imagery of green fields—drawn from Jurandir’s prose—found new form in silk prints, coat linings, and sequined embroidery, later morphing into scorched-earth motifs rendered in brown suede and satin, evoking both resilience and rebirth.

Sensuality threaded throughout the collection, with hints of lingerie aesthetics—cone bras, satin baby-dolls, lace trim—appearing alongside more rugged textures. In menswear, the palette softened into earthy neutrals, elevating Normando’s structured tailoring through subtle experimentation. Standout looks included pleated skirt overlays on deconstructed wool suits and a shirt jacket adorned with a hemline of pastoral print.Normando FW25: A Northern Tapestry of Culture, Craft, and Contemporary EleganceMore than a seasonal offering, Normando’s sophomore SPFW showing affirmed its place in the evolving lexicon of Brazilian fashion. With a distinctive voice that seamlessly fuses regional identity with global sophistication, the brand continues to carve out a compelling and culturally rich space in contemporary design.
