Sichuan Week Shines at Expo 2025: A Cultural and Commercial Showcase from the Heart of China
The China Pavilion at Expo 2025 officially launched its first themed showcase with “Sichuan Week”, held from April 28 to 30, 2025, across two key venues: the China Pavilion at Yumeshima Station and the Hilton Hotel in Osaka. As the inaugural province to host a dedicated cultural and economic spotlight, Sichuan unveiled a dynamic program highlighting the region’s depth and diversity across three key themes: Encountering Sichuan, Experiencing Sichuan, and Promoting Sichuan.
Marking a vibrant beginning, the opening day featured a cultural celebration titled “Yoru no Panda” (Panda Night) at the China Pavilion, captivating guests with themed performances and interactive experiences. Following the launch, the event extended to a multi-day exhibition and promotion series.
A highlight of Sichuan Week is the “Sichuan Products Shine at the Expo” exhibition in downtown Osaka. This curated space showcases an impressive array of Sichuan enterprises and signature goods across various sectors—including food and beverage, chemical and light industries, geographical indication products, and innovations in health and wellness.
In addition to the commercial displays, the week unveiled a series of inbound tourism initiatives designed to attract global visitors. Among these are the Sichuan World Heritage Classic Tour, the Sichuan Cute Panda Ecological Tour, and the Sichuan Gourmet Tour, each offering an immersive journey through the region’s unique landscapes, culture, and cuisine.
Sichuan Week is not only a cultural celebration but a strategic platform to deepen international engagement and spotlight the province's unique contributions to China’s global narrative. With its bold presence at Expo 2025, Sichuan continues to bridge heritage and innovation on the world stage.
